While we live our life, we are always looking to others to get the bit of inspiration that puts one ahead of others. It can come from a co-worker, a teacher, a student, a parent, a friend or for that matter from anybody. In a family, parents inspire their children.Same way, anybody can inspire us in different walks of life and be our motivational guide. Robert Matthew comes up with a list of 7 empowering women. The Inspiring Women

Oprah Winfrey: You can’t happen to miss this name when talking of inspiring women. Born in poverty, married at 14, lost her infant child. She would have been a forgotten soul. However, that was not to be the case. She went from a radio job to co-anchor in local evening news and then to her own talk-show, The Oprah Winfrey Show. She became the first multi-billion Black American and went on to win a number of awards. Today she continues to inspire every soul on this planet with her life struggle. According to Oprah to achieve something you have to struggle, now or later.

JK Rowling: A little known girl goes through her mother’s death, her child born in poverty, and soon enough a divorce from her husband. Add to it the book she was writing got rejected from almost every publisher in the UK within a single year. She didn’t stop until she found the one who liked the script. They gave birth to the wizard Harry Potter and the subsequent titles. It also established JK Rowling as the author of Harry Potter franchisee. All the books were widely accepted and made into movies. As of date, JK Rowling is richer than Queen Elizabeth II. From rags to riches, Rowling has seen it all. She continues to inspire others like her never to give up.

Malala Yousafzai: The girl has wits to stand up against the Taliban. She advocated for girls right and after a death threat, she was shot in the head. She betrayed death and came back to stand once again against her oppressors. She made everyone in the world realize that everyone has a promise to fulfill towards each other. She voiced the concerns because others couldn’t. Her inspiring spirit truly deserved the Nobel Peace Prize.

Gertrude: Her mantra is solve your own problems yourself. Three children, a husband with meagre salary, and a family to feed, things were not so easy. She saw her marriage falling apart due to which she felt sick because of anxiety, and was admitted to a nearby hospital. It was then that she decided to be self-dependent. She joined a savings group after which her life changed for the better. She now lives with her husband once again in the same house now renovated, and has contributed to the health of her children. One just needs to awaken the spirit within.

Marie Curie: Marie Curie became a scientist, invented the X-Ray, and propounded the Theory of Radioactivity when the male-dominated society was busy criticizing her. She went to claim two Nobel Prizes – one for Chemistry, and the other for Physics. The world was busy disagreeing with her, she was busy making inventions for the better of human beings. Truly, she deserves to be on the list of inspiring women.

Ada Lovelace: Daughter of Lord Byron, Ada Lovelace was responsible for passing the Analytical Theories of Charles Babbage’s The Analytical Engine. She gave instructions not to men or women but to machines. She believed that using binary numbers computers could be easily handled. She was the world’s First Computer Programmer. She excelled in a world where women were looked down upon. She inspires us today even.

Annie Jump Cannon: In the 19th Century, Annie came up with a system of ranking the stars as O,B,A,F,G,K, or M where O was the hottest and M the coolest. In just 3 seconds she could classify any constellation. She performed miracles in a male dominated society. Today she is an inspiration for all womankind.

Let’s Conclude

While we live in a male dominated society, and even sometimes think in favour of women, out there, some women have made it a goal of their life to inspire others. Today we can cite a number of such women from whom we can draw inspiration when we might be lacking it the most.
